Ford was a long-running and prosperous career as a heavy-metal artist after the split of her group in 1979. Ford began to take voice classes and soon released her first album , 'Dancin' On the Edge'. Ford disappeared from the world of music for some months after the albums failed to garner much acclaim. The smash-hit album Lita which came out in 1989, was the catalyst that led to her reemergence. Kiss Me Deadly was her most popular hit, along with the ballad Close My Eyes Forever and Kiss Me Deadly. Her success was not long-lasting, as she disappeared for several years. Then she returned after the release of her album "Black" in the year 1995 and 'Wicked Wonderland' almost fifteen years after. Her most recent album "Time Capsule," released in 2016. Guitar Player Magazine awarded her the Certified Guitar Legend Award.
